Football Presentation Evening

Our project worker Carl has been running a five a side football activity every week to encourage the residents to work together and learn new skills.  In order to recognise their achievements through this activity, the team attended a presentation at one of our finance committee meetings.  Here is Carl’s report on the evening.

“The team were asked questions by the committee such as how often they play, who they play against and whether they enjoy the sport.  They were all able to answer the questions enthusiastically.

I handed out 2 awards, one for the most team spirited which went to Alex for his contribution both on and off the pitch and for his leadership skills shown as captain; and one for most improved player which went to Jamie who was very shy and introspective when he first joined the team and has developed into both a skilled footballer and a valued team member over the past year.

I felt the team showed excellent discipline and this has been maintained regardless of any other disruptive influences going on in either their personal lives or the Trust over the time they have been part of the team.

The team now play once a week due to local funding and if there are any teams out there that fancy a game, feel free to contact the Trust and ask for Carl to arrange a match!”

Congratulations to the team 🙂
