NET Publicity Group Visit to Holy Trinity Catholic Church

The Trust set up a Publicity Focus Group in the Spring with the support of funding from the Santander Foundation.  The  group aims to raise awareness of the issue of young homelessness in the UK and particularly in the Newark area.  All of the group members are current residents of Newark Emmaus Trust and have had first hand experience of some of the problems and issues facing young homeless people. The group is  lead by Project Worker Amanda.  Since the group was established,  we have visited several schools, church and community groups in the Newark area.

In June we visited the Peace & Justice Group at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Newark where we did a presentation on the history and work of the Trust. Three of the Trusts residents took part in a question and answer session.  Conor, Joe and Charlotte were all able to share their own experiences of being homeless and how the Trust has helped them, not only by providing them with a safe and secure place to stay, but also by  providing practical and emotional support and helping them learn essential life skills to prepare them for eventual move-on into a tenancy of their own.

We are always looking for local church and community groups to visit and give a publicity talk to in order to raise awareness of the work that we do.  If you are interested in hosting our group then please email  to arrange a talk.
